The Children’s Ministry at West Shore

Why do we call it Awesome Adventure?  Because everything about Jesus is Awesome and getting to know Him better and becoming like Him is an exciting, lifelong Adventure.   We believe God can use Awesome Adventure to transform a child’s life for eternity!

Sunday Mornings
Our Sunday morning programs are learner-focused and teacher-guided.  Children become involved in age-appropriate worship, Bible studies, dramas, activities, crafts, world missions, special projects, lively discussions, major musical productions, and developing new friendships.  Using DiscipleLand curriculum, children ages two through fifth grade grow in their understanding of the Bible and how it relates to their everyday lives.  Sixth graders explore the foundations of a biblical Christian worldview and how it differs from other worldviews.  Check out the scope and sequence to see how children’s biblical knowledge is developed as they progress through Awesome Adventure.

During the Week

Throughout the week, we offer many ministries for children, including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and American Heritage Girls, seasonal Upward sports of flag football, basketball and cheerleading; and a special sixth grade ministry called Faz 6.  Details on each ministry can be accessed through the Awesome Adventure menu selections on the left.

Special Events
Throughout the year, children can participate in special events and ministries including, the WinterBlast elementary weekend retreat, summer overnight camps, Vacation Bible School, an after-school ministry for “at-risk” students, various mission projects, and annual mission trips to Costa Rica and/or Honduras.  Check out our Kids’ Events page for more details on these ministries.
