Deaf Konnect

The Deaf Konnect ministry provides sign language interpretation for the 9:00 AM Sunday service.  Its mission is to provide a deaf-friendly church community and encourage deaf and hard-of-hearing people to fully participate in all aspects of church life. For those in need, seating is located in the raised section of the auditorium and is open to friends and family as well.

Sign Language Class

Have you ALWAYS wanted to learn sign language?  Have you thought, "It's such a beautiful way to express oneself"?  Did you take a class once, many moons ago, but realize you've forgotten most of it?  Here's your chance to refresh your memory, or take it for the first time, just like you've always wanted.  This class is for people with little to no previous experience in sign language.

WSEFC is offering a beginner's sign language class on Mondays, 6:30-8:30pm, running March 12 - May 14 (skipping March 19th and May 7th).  Participants are required to acquire the text: 'The Complete Idiot's Guide to Conversational Sign Language' by Carole Lazorisak and Dawn Donahue (ISBN:  1-59257-255-3).  This text will be used for both Levels 1 and 2.  Deb Pfannenschmidt will conduct the class, in room 235.  A $5 donation to DeafKonnect, the ministry to the deaf at WSEFC, is requested.    Please contact: Jenice Wolgemuth, 579-9241, to register.
