Upward sports at West Shore

Upward Seasons
Fall: Flag Football & Cheerleading
Winter: Basketball & Cheerleading

Sports are a significant part of American culture, especially among children. Awesome Adventure is using the avenue of sports to reach out to families who are looking for a sports program that:

Teaches children the nature and rules of the sport
    in which they are interested.

Allows all children to participate regardless of athletic ability.
Eliminates extreme competitiveness and pressure to win.
Affirms that "Every child is a winner."
 Doesn’t consume the family’s schedule.

In Upward, children are taught the fundamentals of the sport and are encouraged to develop their athletic skills to the best of their God-given ability. Every child gets equal playing time and the opportunity to explore different aspects of the sport. Boys and girls build positive peer relationships while learning the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Every practice and game includes a devotion time where coaches and other adults share the importance of faith in their lives so boys and girls discover how Jesus Christ impacts all of life, even sports. The sports seasons conclude with a special program for the entire family. The concluding program is a special time where every child receives an award and affirmation for their participation.

Practice is just one hour, one night a week. Games are one hour on Saturdays. The seasons generally include three to four preseason practices and seven to eight weekly practices and games.
