Awesome Adventure Staff
Terry Allison
Pastor of Children's Ministries
tallison@westshorefree.org
“I hated going to church when I was a boy,” recalls Pastor Terry. Although he’d wake up early on Sunday mornings, he would watch television with the volume off so his parents would hopefully oversleep and miss church. If anyone had told Terry that he was going to grow up to be a pastor, he would have thought they were crazy.
That all changed when Terry entered into a personal relationship with Jesus at the age of 15 and discovered just how awesome Jesus is. Soon afterwards, he committed his life to teaching others about Jesus. When Terry became a pastor, he dedicated himself to making church an exciting and interesting place for kids so they’d never feel about church the same way he did at their age.
Awesome Adventure reflects Pastor Terry’s deep love for Jesus and children, his passionate vision for building a children’s ministry that makes a significant spiritual impact, and his intense dedication to seeing children become all they can be in Jesus Christ.

The Lord has been preparing Sharon for her position in children’s ministry all of her life. She met the Lord as a young person in her home church. As a mother of three young children, she spent many years teaching Good News Clubs. The Lord is now using her administrative skills in support of the children’s ministry at West Shore.
Darva Kinney
Volunteer Coordinator
dkinney@westshorefree.org
Darva has served in both volunteer and staff positions in the local churches in Minnesota and North Carolina where she and her family have lived. An active volunteer herself, she has committed herself to making a difference in the lives of others. After moving to the Central Pennsylvania area 30 years ago to attend Messiah College, the Lord blessed Darva with a basketball loving husband, Brett, and later with two precious daughters who together keep life at home very interesting and fun.
Darva loves to travel, study the German language, spend time with her family and close friends and, as frequently as possible, retreat to a tiny cabin in the woods of Vermont.
Kristen Pepper
Preschool Coordinator
kpepper@westshorefree.org
Since High School, Kristin Pepper has known that God has been calling her to work with young children. "I decided to get my degree in Early Childhood Education in college because of my love for children, but I never anticipated the exciting opportunities that God would put in my path when I got involved in Awesome Adventure at West Shore E. Free Church," says Kristin. Her extensive background as an educator has prepared her in countless ways to serve young children, their parents, and Awesome Adventure preschool teachers. Kristin has been attending West Shore since her Messiah College days with her husband Rob. She has three children, ages five, seven, and nine.

Kimberly Steiner
Nursery Coordinator
ksteiner@westshorefree.org
Kimberly received her degree in Elementary Education from Messiah College and has teaching experience here and in North Carolina along with volunteer experience as a pre-school Sunday school director in their former church. Along with her job at the church, she currently works part-time at the Oakes Museum at Messiah College as a teaching docent.
Kimberly is happy to announce that the nursery has expanded its classes, adding two Exporers classes (12-17 months) and two Challengers classes (18-24 months). There will also be curriculum for the Explorers and Challengers. "These tools are the perfect way to introduce even the youngest children to God's love for them and to learn Bible truths," said Kimberly. "The material that has been chosen is simple to use, yet makes a real impact on the kids. I can't wait to see all of the learning that will be taking place over the next year!"
