Facilities Groundskeeper Wanted. Are you called to the ministry of stewarding our grounds? We are looking for one or more individuals who love grounds keeping and the outdoors to begin to assume our grounds keeping and related coordinating activities. Our faithful volunteer groundskeeper of the last 10 years, Dave Koser, is hoping to scale back and now is a good time to commence a transition over the upcoming growing season. Mowing Volunteers Needed: Volunteers needed for our mowing teams – a few hours every 4 weeks. A great way to serve our church and help us save money. Contact Jeff Feister, 697-6521.
Alpha Course Kitchen Help. We are in need of volunteers who can help with food prep, cooking, dining room set-up and clean-up for the next Alpha course which runs on Thursday nights from January 29 to April 23. Even if you’re only available certain weeks we would still love to hear from you. Please contact Jewel Fink.
Volunteer Receptionists needed. Have a few hours in your afternoons to spare? Volunteer 1 day or 5 days a week! Duties include answering phones and greeting people as they come into the building, Monday through Friday from 2 -4 PM. Contact Keribeth if interested.
Bus Drivers Needed. Did you know that women’s ministry hires, on average, 30 Messiah students to provide childcare on Tuesday mornings during Bible Study and 60 students for Thursday mornings during MOPS? How do we get them here? We use the church’s bus to pick them up! Do you have a CDL license? Are you available to help drive Tuesday and Thursdays? Students are picked up at 8:30 AM at Messiah College and leave the church to return to campus at 11:30 AM. First Aid Support Volunteer Needed. We need a volunteer to help us periodically inventory and restock our first aid kits and occasionally put together specialty kits for events and missions trips. Occasional other tasks as available. Contact Ned Davis.
USHER volunteers needed. Looking for a way to serve at West Shore Free Church but haven’t yet found a place? Men and women are needed to serve as ushers, especially for 1st Service. Greet, hand out What’s Happening and assist with collection of tithes and offerings. Serve one month, off two months. Contact Brett Kinney.
Communion Help Needed. Looking for a place to serve? Help is needed to prepare the elements for communion. This is a great way to serve, minimal time is required. If you would like more information, contact Betty Heckert.
Are you or your family looking for an opportunity to serve our church family once a month? We could use you on our Greeter Team, our Names & Faces Team or our Pocket Pals Team (re-stocking cards/envelopes/pens in our sanctuary chair pockets). Contact Marilyn Lesko.
Hospitality Greeters. We are so blessed to have new visitors come to West Shore each Sunday! Many come to the Welcome Kiosk to find out about classes, service times and the general lay-out of the building. It is our desire to help our visitors quickly and cheerfully. In order for us to do this we need additional hospitality greeters to serve once or twice per month from 10:10 AM – 10:45 AM (most needed) and a few open positions to serve for 15 minutes at the conclusion of 2nd Service. If you enjoy making new people feel comfortable, this is a great place for you to serve! Contact Darva Kinney.

Upward Soccer Coaches and Referees needed. If you are interested in coaching a soccer team of elementary children from 6-7 PM on a Tuesday or Thursday night March 24-May 28 or if you would referee some soccer games Saturday mornings between 8:30 and noon April 11-May 30, contact Justin Bennage or sign up at the Upward Soccer display across from the Tiki Hut. The A-Team Needs Friends! West Shore’s ministry for adults with disabilities is in need of friends to serve during first and/or second service. No experience or special skills necessary – just love for Jesus! Responsibilities include teaching or helping with lessons, assisting students in wheel chairs, accompanying students throughout the church, singing loud during worship, or just being an awesome friend.For more information or to visit the A-Team contact Jessica .
Caring Closet has been one of West Shore’s primary outreaches to our community for more than 30 years. As we enter into a New Year, there are specific volunteer needs we would like to fill: two people for set-up every third Wednesday from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM, two people to help organize the clothing room the third Thursday of the month from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and two people to help clean up and bag clothing the third Friday of each month from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
